92% of the faculty members at the Department of Social Work have completed postgraduate studies outside Chile, of which 44% were carried out in Europe, 36% in Latin America and 20% in the United States and Canada.
The United States, England, Spain, and Brazil are the countries most frequently chosen for master’s and doctoral studies.
Likewise, each faculty member participates in various international instances such as academic committees, networks and working groups, and the organization of seminars and conferences, among others. In this way, the academic body actively collaborates with more than 60 international organizations and entities.

Among these are the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), the Latin American Meeting on Methodology of Social Sciences (ELMeCS), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Research Committee of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and the Latin American Network of Methodology in Social Sciences (REDMET).
Likewise, 20% of the faculty members participate in editorial boards of international journals such as *Kybernetes Journal*, *European Journal of Education and Psychology*, *Conselho Editorial do Selo Caliandra do Instituto de Ciências Humanas da Universidade de Brasília*, *Revista KERA YVOTY* [*Utopia*, in Guaraní]: *Reflections on the Social Question*, *Social Work Education: The International Journal*, *Critical Social Policy* and *Social Work Education*.

The Department of Social Work has also welcomed visiting professors from different countries, promoting international participation in academic activities.
Between 2019 and 2025, 22 visiting professors from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, the United States, France, Greece, England, Italy and Mexico have been received.
59% come from Europe, 36% from Latin America, and 5% from the United States.
